About Ocracoke: Ocracoke Island is part of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It's a small strip of sand in the Atlantic Ocean. Ocracoke Is accessible only by ferry. Most of the Island is National Park about 16 miles of beach. At the southern end is the village where 700 residents live. The village is home to many fine craftspeople, artists and musicians.
